2026 - Eye Opening

“Eye Opening” marks the beginning of a new life for me; moving away from my obsession towards objectivity and approaching to accepting the human in me. “Eye Opening” is meant to be figurative and literal at the same time.

As a child I was obsessed with eyeball, to me a symbol of pure objectivity. At that time I did not understand why do human beings need to feel superior to each other. My questions remained unanswered. To human beings around me having stereotypes towards others (religions, tribes) seemed to be a normal thing. I felt out of place. I still remember at age four asking my mom “Why do we talk bad about other religions, other tribes?”. I felt very uncomfortable for not getting a clear answer and for not knowing how to deal with the consequences. To me every human being around me seemed to be biased, flawed. Their judgments, thoughts, opinions are not objective. So will mine for I am also a human being.

What if, just, what if I could just exist as an eyeball? An eyeball that floats in the sky, observing life happening, without needing to assign some kind of value to any thing. I would not know bad or good. I would just see things objectively.
